Teriyaki burgers

1/2 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons sugar
3 green onions, sliced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/s teaspoon instant minced garlic or 1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. ground beef
4 slices (81/4-oz. can) pineapple
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Setting: HIGH
1. In 2-quart (8 x 8 ) glass baking dish, combine soy sauce, sugar, onions, ginger and garlic; mix well.
2. Shape beef into 4 patties. Add to soy sauce mix¬ture, turning over to coat.
3. MICROWAVE for 6 to 7 MINUTES or until done, turning once during last half of cooking time. Top with pineapple slice.
4. MICROWAVE for 30 SECONDS to warm pineap¬ple. Serve on toasted buns.
4 Sandwiches
TIP If desired, make open-faced sandwiches by topping slices of French bread with meat patties and pineapple and spooning remaining teriyaki sauce over bread.
Swedish meatballs with gravy

1 egg, slightly beaten
1 lb. ground beef
1 slice bread, crumbled
1/4 cup cream or milk
1/2 cup (1 med.) chopped onion or
2 tablespoons instant minced onion 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon mace or allspice, if desired 1 can (103/4 oz.) condensed beef gravy

Setting: HIGH
1. In 11/2-quart (8-inch round) glass baking dish, combine all ingredients except gravy. Shape into 8 to 10 meatballs, arranging in same dish.
2. MICROWAVE for 5 MINUTES, turning and rear-ranging once. Drain fat. Spoon gravy over meat-balls; cover.
3. MICROWAVE for 3 MINUTES or until heated through.
4 Servings
TIPS Gravy mix can be used for canned gravy. Just sprinkle partially cooked meatballs with gravy mix and stir in 1/2 cup water (half red wine can be used) and cook as directed, stirring once.
• Canned soups can also be used for gravy. Meat¬balls are good with cream of chicken, mushroom or celery soup.
Saucy oriental meatballs

1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 cup (5-oz. can) chopped water chestnuts
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1/8 teaspoon instant minced garlic or
garlic powder
11/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Setting: HIGH
1. In 11/2-quart (8-inch round) glass baking dish, combine ground beef, water chestnuts, salt and horseradish. Form into 1-inch meatballs, arranging in same baking dish.
2. Combine marmalade, garlic, flour, soy sauce and lemon juice. Spoon over meatballs; cover.
3. MICROWAVE for 7 to 8 MINUTES, rearranging and turning once. Serve with rice.
4 Servings
TIP These flavors would make tasty appetizer meatballs; serve on toothpicks from chafing dish.

OH! SO GOOD SPAGHETTI
2 lbs. ground beef
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 can (16 oz.) whole tomatoes 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon leaf oregano Salt
Pepper
Grated Parmesan cheese

Setting: HIGH
1. Crumble ground beef into 4-quart glass cas¬serole. Stir in onion.
2. MICROWAVE for 7 MINUTES; drain. Stir in re-maining ingredients, except cheese; cover.
3. MICROWAVE for 9 to 10 MINUTES or until meat absorbs juices. Serve with hot cooked spaghetti. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top of each serving.
6 to 8 Servings
TIPS If you like a wine flavored sauce, use 1/4 cup red wine for part of the water.
• If desired, add a 4-oz. can mushroom stems and pieces, using the liquid for part of the water.
• MICROWAVE on MEDIUM for 15 to 20 MINUTES in step 3.
Ground beef patties on microwave browning grill

1 lb. ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion

Setting: HIGH
1. Combine all ingredients in medium glass mixing bowl; mix well. Shape into 4 patties. Preheat mi¬crowave browning grill in oven as directed in instruc¬tion booklet. Place patties on browning grill.
2. MICROWAVE for 2 MINUTES. Turn patties over and MICROWAVE for21/2 to 3 MINUTES orto desired doneness.
4 Patties
TIPS Make FRENCH-STYLE PATTIES by basting meat with 1/4 cup dry red wine after first cooking time. Top with 1 can (4 oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained, and MICROWAVE for 3 to 4 MINUTES or until desired doneness. Sprinkle with snipped parsley.
• Make CHEDDAR CHEESE PATTIES. Top each patty with 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese and 1 teaspoon catsup after first cooking time. Microwave as directed in basic recipe.
