Easy lamb stew

Item required
1 lb. boneless lamb stew meat
1 package (5/8 oz.) brown gravy mix 1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/s teaspoon instant minced garlic or 1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup water
1/2 cup red wine
3 medium carrots, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 medium potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes

Settings: HIGH/DEFROST
1. In 2 or 3-quart glass casserole, combine lamb, gravy mix and sugar.
2. MICROWAVE on HIGH for 5 MINUTES. Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well; cover.
3. MICROWAVE on DEFROST for 35 to 45 MIN-UTES or until vegetables and meat are desired doneness, stirring occasionally.

Beef bourguignon

Item required
11/2 to 13/4-lb, beef sirloin steak, cut into 11/2-inch cubes
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 envelope (11/4 oz.) dehydrated onion soup mix
2/3 cup dry red wine
1 can (4 oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 green pepper, cut into strips
1 can (16 oz.) whole onions, drained

Settings: HIGH/DEFROST
1. Combine steak cubes, salt, flour, soup mix and wine in 2-quart glass casserole. Cover with glass lid or plastic wrap.
2. MICROWAVE on HIGH for about 5 MINUTES or until no longer pink. Stir in remaining ingredients; recover.
4. MICROWAVE on DEFROST for 12 to 15 MIN-UTES or until fork tender. Let stand, covered, 5 min¬utes before serving.

WARM CAKE SQUARES

Setting: HIGH
Place squares of UNFROSTED cake on napkin, plate or glass serving plate.

MICROWAVE just until cake feels warm:
1 piece — 15 to 20 SECONDS
2 pieces — 25 to 30 SECONDS
3 pieces — 35 to 40 SECONDS
4 pieces.— 50 to 55 SECONDS

TIP Do not use frosted cake because the frosting might melt in the time it takes for a room temperature cake to become warm.
